Each app gets up to 10 points, one for each of ten checks, all worth the same. The score out of 5 is the points divided by 2. Facts and prices were read from each app's own site on 26 October 2026. We score features on the plan we priced for one person in the cost example (the cheapest plan that lets you send invoices and texts; Scrubix has one free app), and each card says which plan that is. Where an app does not publish a fact, it gets half a point for that check, never zero and never full. Cards are in order of score, highest first. Apps on the same points are in A to Z order.
The stars show the score to the nearest half star. Roundly is one of the seven and wrote these rules, so every point is shown on each card when you open it, and you can add it up yourself.
Same order as the cards. Each All about link opens that app's card above.
Pick the one thing that matters most to you. All seven apps line up under it.
The cheapest plan from each app that lets you send invoices and texts, billed monthly, from prices read on 26 October 2026. The bars show the subscription only: texts, and payment charges where an app has them, cost extra. Lowest subscription first.
Subscription only, texts extra. 300 customers on a four-weekly round, one text a visit: about 325 texts a month
Subscription only, texts extra. You and 4 workers, 900 customers on four-weekly rounds, one text a visit: about 975 texts a month
Aworka Team is £30 with one employee plus £10 for each other (£60), without VAT, so £72 with VAT. Squeegee is per user: 5 x £22.80. getSoapy Pro is £17.50 plus 4 x £4.90. Yearly billing is cheaper at some apps. RoundRun's team price is not confirmed, so it has no bar in the second chart. Where an app has a published text price the sum is shown under the chart, one credit or text per visit. Texts are counted as one a visit on a four-weekly round: 300 customers x 13 visits a year / 12 = 325 a month.
The same facts as the cards above, in the same order, for comparing across. Not published means we could not find it.

There is no one best. It depends on whether you work alone, whether you want card or Direct Debit taken for you, and whether you want to pay for texts. The quick answers above match each case to an app.
Scrubix has a free app. You pay for texts (3.5p to 5p each), for card and Direct Debit payment charges, and for an optional dedicated number at £9.99 a month. RoundRun is free for its first 50 members during its beta. getSoapy gives its Starter plan free for 12 months to new businesses or those with under 50 customers. Roundly is free for 3 months with no card details needed, then from £9.99 a month.
On the prices published on 26 October 2026, the subscription for one person with 300 customers is between £7 and £29 a month on a paid plan (Scrubix is £0). The subscription for five people with 900 customers is between £37.10 and £114 a month on a paid plan, and RoundRun's team price is not confirmed. Texts cost extra at most apps. The tables above show every figure and how we reached it.
